Renting in Ajman? Your tenancy contract is not registered in Dubai's Ejari. In Ajman it is attested (the official term is "authenticated") by the Municipality & Planning Department, a service that most people still call Tasdeeq. This guide walks you through the official process, the documents you need and what it costs.
What is Tasdeeq attestation?
Attestation is the official registration of your lease with the Ajman government. The attested contract is the document that proves the tenancy exists. You need it for utility connections, residence-related paperwork and, if things go wrong, any rental dispute. The federal portal u.ae says plainly that registering a lease contract is compulsory before utility services can be connected.
The residential service covers contracts for family accommodation in residential units. Commercial, investment and warehouse leases have their own service cards with different fees, so pick the service that matches your property.
Step by step: attest a residential contract
Documents you need
- The attestation form (the tenancy contract details submitted through the service)
- A copy of the tenant's Emirates ID
- An Ajman Sewerage Company No Objection Certificate (NOC). This is not required in the Manama and Masfout areas, or if the building is already connected to Ajman Sewerage Company
Keep a copy of the signed contract and the landlord's details ready, because the system may ask you to confirm them. Requirements can change, so check the service card before you apply.
Fees for residential attestation
- UAE nationals: free
- Expatriates: 2% of the unit's annual rental value, calculated with the rental calculator
- A minimum fee applies. The official page lists it in a format that is hard to read, so confirm the exact minimum on the portal before you pay
Example: on an annual rent of AED 30,000, 2% is AED 600. If 2% of your rent comes to less than the minimum, you pay the minimum instead.
Warehouse and investment leases
Warehouse leases use a separate Warehouse Lease Agreement Attestation service. It is also done with UAE PASS. You need the attestation form and the licence holder's ID, plus an NOC for interconnected units. The fee is based on the annual rent, subject to a minimum, and the official processing time is also 1 day. After attestation you receive the attested contract and the warehouse permit from the Department of Economic Development. Check the exact fee on the service card.
Renewals and changes
Ajman lists renewal of residential, investment and commercial contracts as a separate service in its catalogue. Renew before your current attested contract expires so your utility account and other records keep running. If the rent or the parties change, you need a new attestation that reflects the new terms.
Help and contact
The Ajman Government contact centre can help with the service. Call 80070, email 80070@ajman.ae or use the chat at 80070.ae. In-person help is available at the Department of Digital Ajman, Ruler's Court Government Office, Nakheel 2.

Before you upload anything, make sure the contract itself is complete: names exactly as on Emirates ID, unit details, rent, payment schedule and the start and end dates. A clean contract gets approved faster.
