What Dubai law says
Dubai tenants may terminate early only if the tenancy contract permits it via Section 6 Additional Terms, or by mutual agreement with the landlord. The standard clause requires 60 days written notice plus a penalty (typically 1-2 months rent). Article 20 of Law No. 26 of 2007 requires the security deposit to be returned within 30 days of vacating, less any documented damage.
How to deliver it
Email plus registered post. Keep the receipt and any read confirmations.
If they ignore it
If the landlord refuses to accept early termination despite the contract permitting it, or refuses to return the deposit within 30 days, file at the Rental Dispute Settlement Centre.
