About the calculation
The widget applies the rent increase tiers set out in Dubai Decree No. 43 of 2013. A visitor enters their current annual rent and the average market rent for comparable properties nearby, and the calculator returns the maximum increase a landlord may lawfully request. Where the current rent is within ten per cent of the market rate no increase is permitted at all; the permitted percentage then rises in steps to a ceiling of twenty per cent for rents more than forty per cent below market.
Technical notes
The script is around eight kilobytes of plain JavaScript with no external dependencies and no framework requirement. It sets no cookies, collects no personal data and makes no network requests after loading, so it does not affect the privacy posture of the page it sits on. It renders into whichever container element you place on the page, inherits nothing from your stylesheet, and works on mobile and desktop without configuration.
